ChatGPT or Claude: Which Is Better for Your Business?

It is the question we hear most from business owners in our AI classes: should my team use ChatGPT or Claude? The honest answer is that the best teams use both, because each one is stronger at different jobs. Here is how we explain it in class.

What they have in common

Both are AI assistants you talk to in plain language, in English or BM. Both can write, summarise, translate, answer questions, read files you upload and help you think through problems. Both have free versions to start with and paid plans for heavier use. For everyday tasks like a quick email or a caption, either one will do a good job.

Where ChatGPT shines

• Images. Create product shots, promo graphics and social media visuals from a description.
• Voice. Talk to it out loud, which is handy on the go.
• Familiarity. Most of your staff and customers have already tried it, so it is easy to get started.

Where Claude shines

• Writing that sounds human. Claude is especially good at following your tone, so emails, proposals and posts sound like your company.
• Long documents. Upload a tender, a contract or a long report and ask questions about it.
• Building things. Describe a quotation calculator or a simple tracker, and Claude can build a working tool you can share. No coding needed.

Which one should your team use?

• Marketing teams: both. ChatGPT for images, Claude for captions and long-form writing.
• Admin and HR: Claude for letters, policies and summaries of long documents.
• Sales: Claude for proposals and quotation tools, ChatGPT for quick visuals for presentations.
• Owners and managers: try both on the same task for a week. You will quickly see which suits each job.

One important rule for both

Do not paste confidential company or customer data into a free personal account. Use a business plan with the right privacy settings, and agree as a team on what can and cannot be shared with AI.
